we first came out as convicts my gggg grandfather came out on the alexander he  wascharged with stealing clothing for this he recieved 7yrs. he is thought to be an african negro..John Martin  married a convict  ann toy  or joy,when she died he married mary martin,ann was thought to have died in  childbirth.John randall was also on the ship with him,he was from the west  indies he first married esther howard ,who was also a convict she was an oyster  peddler,less then a year later ,he then married mary but she was charged for  stealing a basket of beans on the NEPTUNE.They had two children a boy John died  as an infant and Mary who later married her fathers best friend John  Martin.After doing their time they both did well for themselves,John martin  became a constable in 1910 he also owned property,while still a convict he was  given 25 lashes for lighting a fire in his cabin.John Martin and John Randall  were both given parcels of land where they settled and remained until the died  and the land was left to the family.

DEATH OF SHEILA BERYL WILSON...mum died on the 28 april 2007 from a brain  tumour which was diagnosed on the 28th november 2006 she hadan operation to have it  removed in early december 2006 she came home and things were good  she had radiation treatment,which seemed to be working ,after treatment was  finished things were looking good,then on the 5th march she had siezures at  home she was readmitted to hospital and home 3 days later,again on the 19 march  2007 she was again admitted to p.o.w hospital were after xrays showed the  tumour had returned with a vengance so we the family opted out for new op.after  a month she was again home with us .myself (lynne),my husband lee and my step  dad sandy we cared for her at home for 10 days when she finally lost the  battle....she was intered at portland cemetary nsw....
 HMS SIRIUS                          
      The kemps arrived in nsw 
 australia on the hms sirius ,which i have since dicovered it was a war  ship  she was formely named the hms berwick.On the 2nd of october 1788 SIRIUS was  sent to port jackson for supplies the voyage took 7mths and six days sailing  the tempestuous water of cape horn.On 19th march 1790 SIRIUS was lost upon the  reef at Norfolk Island.By good fortune she had landed part of the stores and  most of the passengers before the disaster;she was carrying 101 convict men;65  women;and 23 children as well as 31 marines with four wives and one child.For  almost a year after it was possible to get on board and remove valuable  supplies and material,including the livestock; the animals were heaved  overboard and left to swim ashore. The crew was stranded at Norfolk Island  until 12 feb 1791, and eventually returned to England in the dutch chatered  vessel Waaksamheid.Members of the crew hms SIRIUSwho sailed from Portsmouth in  may 1787 with rank or rating at Jan 1788 or at the time of desertion or  discharged(spelling as in muster ),'AB'= able seaman ".

Abduction of Catherine Coops 13TH JANUARY  1860

Catherine was placed in the care of the pulican at the Sofala nsw pub.. She was  taken by her brother-in-law george west...he had often visited Catherine at the  pub and then threaten he would take her life if she didn't go with him. he had  sex with her on a number of occassions,he had threatened to use the horse whip  on her if she did not go with him. this all happened on the Friday and sat then  on sun he gave her 11  shillings to hold for him when he came back,but he never  returned.Catherine stayed all night in the dark and on Monday morning went to a  nieghbours house and said what had happened..George West was arrested on Sunday  and charged  he was found guilty and sentenced to two years impisonment to  Darlinghurst jail.

JOHN BERTRAM WILSON snr was enlisted into the army and while there he was a  prisoner of war in JAPAN..He got discharged on compassionate grounds...John  Freebody was in considerable trouble with the law  he wa scharged with being  drunk while in a horse and cart ,endangering many lives,he was fined 5/,then  about 9mths later he was charged with harbouring a prisoner at large,this was a  bad case,he was fined $50.00 and costs.John was then gharged with highway  robbery on one issac Chessman,the jury found him not guilty...as he grew older  he had a good character...Simon clarkson Freebody was sent to AUSTRALIA for  7yrs for stealing a lamb with the wool on it and then sold it for 13/- he came  on the Surprise second fleetafter spending time on the hulk ships in the Thames.

DEATH OF DARREN DAVID STEWART 1976

DARREN was the most beautiful baby so queit and gentle never really crying but  always getting into mischief.I remember a time of looking after him and putting  him to bed and he decided to throw his bottle and nappy from i think 3 floors  up and then deciding to try and get out of the window to retrieve it.being  caught just in time,then him and his mum were driving in traffic and she had to  pull over very quickly as he was trying to climb out a very small car  window.Then on the 16th january 1976 we got the call no one wants to hear that  he had died from a gunshot wound ,his father had shot him ,the coronor had put  it down to an accident....

DEATH OF VERA MAY KEMP

VERA was born in Wolgan Valley nsw ,then moved with her family to Mt Kiera  Wollongong nsw,they then moved to williewa creek Portland nsw .she resided  there until the age of 73, when she moved to Sydney with her daughter  Shirley.Vera had spent over 40yrs at 12 Creek street Portland nsw.Vera was  quiet happy and adjusted to city life very well, until she met with a terrible  accident at the corner of Stanmore rd and Enmore rd  Enmore nsw ,it happened at  3.30pm on 26th October 1987.She was hit by a truck(impatient to get around  corner and her being slow )driven by Gary Raymon Redmond(licence no;9310vu)  owned by Transport Priority ltd Fairfield nsw).Vera spent 10 wks in Prince  Alfred Hospital.Vera had always wanted to have a plane ride to Orange nsw to  see her brother Ron so Sheila,Shirley and sheilas de facto Sandy took her in  July 1988,she then passed away in January 1989.

DEATH OF BRADLEY MEEKS
 Bradley was enlisted with the australian navy and in MAY 1999 ,him and four  fellow workers were working on the HMAS WESTRALIAN in Western Australia ,when a  fire started in the engine room Bradley tried to rescue the others and they all  lost there lives,The company that supplied  parts were found to be guilty and  charged $75,000 and costs of $25,000.Bradley meeks was my cousin
